Meet the Team
What I love about working at Emerge is the immense joy of being able to journey with young people in a time of need- being able to walk with them and guide them through adolescence is something everyone needs!
Jo has a Theology and Youth Ministry degree from St Mellitus, as well as being a trained Youth Pastor at a local church. Jo has experience working with both children and young people.
I love the work I do, walking alongside young people, hearing their stories and encouraging them on their journey. I believe in the vision of Emerge and am passionate about being a voice of hope for young people during a time of crisis.
In my spare time I love going on walks in the countryside, learning new creative skills, hunting for the next best independent coffee shop with my Husband and eating good food with friends and family.
I love the work that Emerge do, as I know from my own life how important it is to be heard and listened to. I have also struggled with anxiety and had years of counselling, but can give hope to others that life can be better again!
In my free time I like running, dancing, jigsaw puzzles and crosswords!!!
As a busy mum and wife I love to take care of people, so I enjoy cooking and baking (my sticky toffee pudding is particularly good). I also like to go for hikes or walks in the countryside or at the beach.
On the rare occasions that I get an afternoon or evening to myself or with friends, I love to go to the theatre- from musicals and opera to ballet.
What I love about Emerge is the joy and privilege of meeting young people and supporting them through their struggles.
I do not have my own children and for that reason I wanted to give my time and effort to help those in need.
Alongside my work with Emerge I also work as a Health Care Professional for the NHS where I support patients with cancer.
In my spare time you often find me playing keyboard, singing and writing my own songs. I enjoy paddle boarding, kayaking and any water related sports together with a long walks near the sea.
