Meet the Team

Jack
Jack
Hi there, I’m Jack, and I’m the Project Lead for Emerge at the Royal Surrey Hospital. I really have a heart for those struggling and going through a difficult season in their life and I know how much a listening and compassionate ear can open the door for truth and light to flood in. That’s why I’m so passionate about the work we do at Emerge. I enjoy making and playing music, both with a band and as an independent singer songwriter. I am married to Alice and together we enjoy regularly getting out into the local countryside whatever the weather.

Jack has been involved in Youth Work since 2011 and has a BSc in Anthropology, where he studied modules relating to mental health.

Bethany
Bethany
Hey, Bethany here. I’m a youth worker for the Emerge Project at the Royal Surrey. In my spare time I play football for a local team, enjoy walks in the country with our Sprocker Spaniel, baking and spending time with friends. What I love most about Emerge is the opportunity to care for and encourage the young people we support in hospital, and in the community. It’s a privilege to get alongside them in their most difficult moments to hear their stories and to encourage them by seeing the gold in them and calling it out.

Bethany has been a youth worker since 2010, and has qualifications including a NVQ in Practical Youth Work – Level 2 & 3 and a Distance Learning qualification in Understand Children & Young People’s Mental Health.

Michael
Hi there! I’m Michael, a youth worker for Emerge at the Frimley Project. I have a desire to show indiscriminate love and care to those in need. I have a passion to come alongside young people and be a voice of hope to them when they are at their darkest moments.
I am a husband and a proud dad of two daughters.
Michael has previously worked with vulnerable people in the community as a domiciliary carer. He also has level 2 accreditations in Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy, Safeguarding and Prevent, Behaviours that Challenge, and Specific Learning Difficulties.
Jackie
Jackie
Hi, I’m Jackie, a Youth Support Worker at the Royal Surrey Hospital. I love running, dancing, paddleboarding and spending time with my husband, teenage children and noisy cats! My happy place is by the sea.
I love working for Emerge. It’s such a privilege to come alongside young people as they face challenging times. And to be a voice of hope and encouragement as they work through their negative self-beliefs.

Since 2010 Jackie has been supporting children and young people with SEN and as an ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant). She is a qualified Mental Health First Aider, Place2Be Mental Health Champion and has a level 2 Counselling qualification. Jackie is also a quaified course leader for ‘Tastelife’ which offers eating disorders support.
